johnny was involved
in some kind of … an accident
he ran away bleeding
hid under the bridge in the
company of she-wolves
who gave him all he was needing

johnny don’t you fly away

this is not a drill
it’s just the peoples’ will
you wanna spill? so spill

johnny hit the after party
he found himself drawn to the mirror
he thought the creature there
bore a slight resemblance
then he caught
another glimpse, much clearer

it looked quite like an appetizer
and johnny thought then of his heart attack
it said “hello”
it had a voice like a geyser
it said “i’ll see ya if you find your way back”

this is not a drill
it’s just the peoples’ will
you wanna spill? so spill

now if you want to make some problems
you gotta come on closer to me
and if you wanna hear my summation:
this little bird will never go free

johnny found himself in the darkroom
reminded of a killing jar
“these photographs are somehow familiar,”
said the girl with a spike in her arm
and johnny
knew that he was lost
yes johnny
he knew that he belonged to the wind
like the tempest toss’d uh huh

johnny walked away from the car crash
knew he had a promise to keep
licked his wounds
in the tunnels where the gentleman junkies
sing their sorry selves to sleep

“these injuries are superficial,”
said a nurse at the infirmary door
her skin under the light
it was near translucent
johnny asked, could she inflict some more?
she said “for sure”
